IDENTIFICATION FOR OWNERSHIP INDIAN GAS CYLINDER



    MARKING / IDENTIFICATION FOR OWNERSHIP
           
Since all the cylinders, which are in use, by the Oil Industry are standardised to the same specification, the Oil Industry has adopted the following convention to facilitate identification of the ownership of the cylinders :

(a)      IOC Cylinders : painted fully red, bottom foot ring having horizontal oval holes.

(b)      BPC Cylinders : painted red but circular portion around the bung and up to the vertical stays, painted yellow.  The foot ring is having round holes.

(c)      HPC Cylinders : painted red but circular portion around the bung and up to the vertical stays painted blue.  The foot ring is having vertical oval holes.

(d)      IBP Cylinders : painted red but circular portion around the bung and up to the vertical stays painted black.  The foot ring is having diamond shape holes.
